2018 Gloucester 50km                      

2018 Gloucester 50K Ultra Run Race Day Instructions and Information - PLEASE READ
The event is being held on a new course starting at waterwells Quedgeley going through the villages of Haresfield and Colethrop.
Please take the time to read all of the race day instructions below. A copy of the 2018 Race Day Instructions and Information is also available to download from our website www.beyondthelimitations.org.uk  Please make sure you read through the instructions thoroughly.
Race Venue
Registration and general enquiries is located within the Kingsway Sport Pavilion, Newhaven Road, Quedgeley GL2 2GF your race number and chip and Tech T Shirt is to be collected prior to the race.
Registration will be open from 8am on race day.
There will be a baggage area at race HQ. All baggage will be transferred to Waterwells Sports Centre Stephenson Drive Waterwells GL2 2AG which is where there will be changing rooms hot showers refreshments and you will be able to get a massage after the race.
Race HQ after the race is (1150 metres from the Park & Ride Car Park)
Finish is at Brunel Court which is 200 metres from race HQ
Presentation Will take place at Waterwells Sport Centre at approximately 15.15pm
Prizes   1st three Individuals Men/Women, 1st Female Vet 40 and Male Vet 40, and then in the subsequent 10 year age groups (depending on entry)
Post Race
At the end of the race you will receive a specially designed Medal
Car Parking
The Park and Ride on Telford Way Waterwells Quedgeley GL2 2AB  is approximately 400 metres from race registration to get there by road from the M5 Junction 12 follow signs to Gloucester (A38)  at the first roundabout from the M5 take the second exit A38 and then take the next exit left up the slip road (B4008) signed Hardwicke follow the B4008 to the next roundabout take the third exit off this roundabout into Naas Lane, keep on this road for 300 metres to the next roundabout, take the third exit off this roundabout into Telford Way and the Park and Ride Car Park GL2 2AB is 200 metres on the right.

From the A40/A417 ring road roundabout
Follow signs to Gloucester over causeway at the first traffic lights turn right A430 Castle Meads Way/Llanthony Road follow A430 after 4kms you join the Bristol Road A38 follow this road for approximately 2.4 kms at the first roundabout take the first left into Waterwells Drive and after 150 metres take the first left off the next roundabout into Telford Way follow this road for 200 metres and the entrance to the Park and Ride Car Park GL2 2AB is on your left
Race Briefing
Assemble for briefing in Davy Way at the start 10.50am
Start Time
The race will start 10.55am on Sunday 21st January 2018 in Davy Way Waterwells Quedgeley (follow signs from car park)

RACE NUMBER
Please fix your number to the front of your vest, pinned at all four corners, without folding or writing on it.
Personal and Medical details
As a condition of entry to this event you are required to complete your personal and medical details in the boxes on the back of your race number. You also agree that these may be made available, along with any other personal details to the event organisers and the relevant medical race services. In the event of an emergency part of the event terms and conditions are that you agree to supply your contact details to these bodies. By displaying your number you are agreeing to the terms and conditions of this event. Your next of kin/emergency contact should be someone who will be contactable on the day of this event.
For reasons of health and safety your race number must not be transferred to another person. Doing so without the permission of the event organisers will result in disqualification.
Baggage
Baggage is left at the owner’s risk
Course
The course will have a UKA Certificate of Course Accuracy. The course is out and back to a single loop of 8.92kms which you complete five times the route is mainly flat with a few inclines. Runners must keep to the left hand side of the road accept when they are directed by marshals to the right hand side of the road at no time cut corners which may cause danger to themselves and other road users. Therefore please follow the advice of the marshals and if running in groups keep no more than two abreast and keep to the left hand side of the road. Should you be seen running in such a way as to cause danger to other road users then you risk disqualification.
Time Limit

The organisers have imposed a strict 5 hours-30 mins Time Limit and at 14.45 hrs the marshalling will progressively be removed from the course in accordance with this limit
In the interest of your own safety and that of your fellow runners you will not be allowed to run wearing an MP3 player or portable audio device (iPod or similar) and you will be disqualified. The roads will not be closed to traffic and you will not be fully aware of traffic and around you. Neither will you hear instructions from
marshals or the police.
Spectators
Because of the narrowness of some of the course spectators must not follow the race by bicycle or Vehicle this can be dangerous. The pacing of runners by cyclists is against British Athletics rules and any runner deemed to have been paced will be disqualified                                                                          
Water stations
Water stations are located at approximately every 5kms and at the Finish and will provide Water and High 5.
Marshals

Retirements
If you cannot complete the course, keep your race number on until you report to a marshal. A Vehicle will be on the course to collect you and take you to the finish. A medical recovery team will be on hand at the finish should you require assistance. Please feel free to ask for help at any time. Please hand in your number with timing chip attached to a marshal or other official.
Refreshments
A range of refreshments (Tea, Coffee, hot Chocolate and soft drinks brownies crisp and fruit will be available from Chris Kingshott.
Medical Support
First aid and emergency cover is provided by Local Medical Services or St John Ambulance There will also be staff on duty on the course and Aid at the finish.

Extreme Weather Conditions
In the event of extreme weather conditions the organisers reserve the right to cancel the race at any time.
Cancellation
