Gloucester 10 Mile Road Race Day Instructions and Information - PLEASE READ
The event is being held from Waterwells Quedgeley going through the villages of Haresfield and Colethrop.

Please take the time to read all of the race day instructions below. A copy of the 2018 Race Day Instructions and Information is also available to download from our

Website www.beyondthelimitations.org.uk  Please make sure you read through the instructions thoroughly.

Car Parking
Car parking is at the Park and Ride on Telford Way Waterwells Quedgeley GL2 2AB which is 1200 metres from Race HQ

From the A40/A417 ring road roundabout
Follow signs to Gloucester over causeway at the first traffic lights turn right A430 Castle Meads Way/Llanthony Road follow A430 after 4kms you join the Bristol Road A38 follow this road for approximately 2.4 kms at the first roundabout take the first left into Waterwells Drive and after 150 metres take the first exit left off the next roundabout into Telford Way follow this road for 200 metres and the entrance to the Park and Ride Car Park GL2 2AB is on your left hand side of the road.

From the M5 Junction 12 follow signs to Gloucester B4008 at the first roundabout from the M5 take the second exit A38 signed Gloucester and then take the next exit left up the slip road (B4008) signed Hardwicke follow the B4008 to the next roundabout take the third exit off this roundabout into Naas Lane, keep on this road for 200 metres to the next roundabout, take the third exit off this roundabout into Telford Way and the Park and Ride car park is on your right hand side of the road.

                                      Race Venue
Race HQ Registration and General Enquiries are located within Robin Greaves Sports Hall, Quedgeley Wanderers Football Club, Stephenson Drive, Quedgeley, Gloucester.GL2 2AG. Your race number and chip is to be collected on the day.

Between 8.00am -9.25am limited changing will be available prior to the start of the race. Changing and hot showers will be available after the race at Race HQ where the Award presentation will take place.

We have to leave Race HQ at 9.30am has another group have a permanent booking every Sunday between 9.45am to 11.00am at Robin Greaves Sports Hall


Assemble Area /Race Briefing
Assemble for briefing in Jessop Court
Quedgeley at 10.35am under no circumstances please do not go into the Car Park of DPD which is the other side of the roundabout in the Assemble area

Directions signs There will be signs and arrows to direct you from race HQ to Jessop Drive the race assemble area which is 400 metres away

Baggage
There will be a baggage vehicle at the race start and finish location which is 400 metres away from Race HQ Registration and General Enquires.

Start Time The race will start at 09:45am on Sunday 30th December 2018 in Marconi Drive

RACE NUMBER
Please fix your number to the front of your vest, pinned at all four corners, without folding or writing on it.

Personal and Medical details
As a condition of entry to this event you are required to complete your personal and medical details in the boxes on the back of your race number. You also agree that these may be made available, along with any other personal details to the event organisers and the relevant medical race services. In the event of an emergency part of the event terms and conditions are that you agree to supply your contact details of the next of kin or to someone you know who will be contactable on the day of the race.

For reasons of health and safety your number must not be transferred to another person. Doing so without the permission of the event organisers will result in disqualification.
Course
The course has a UKA Certificate of Course Accuracy. The course is out and back to a single loop of 4.25kms which the runners run twice which is mainly flat with a few inclines. Runners must keep to the left hand side of the road for the whole race and at no time cross to the right hand side of the road to cut corners this may cause danger to themselves and other road users. Therefore please follow the advice of the marshals and if running in groups keep no more than two abreast and keep to the left hand side of the road. Should you be seen running in such a way as to cause danger to other road users then you risk disqualification. In the interest of your own safety and that of your fellow runners you will not be allowed to run wearing an MP3 player or portable audio device (iPod or similar) the roads will not be closed to traffic and you will not be fully aware of traffic around you. Neither will you hear Instructions from marshals or the police.
                                                                                        
Time Limit
The organisers have imposed a strict 2 hour time limit and at 11.45am the marshalling will progressively be removed from the course in accordance time limit.

Spectators
Because of the narrowness of some of the course spectators must not follow the race by bicycle or car or vans as this can be dangerous. The pacing of runners by cyclists is against UK Athletics rules and any runner deemed to have been paced will be disqualified.

Water stations
Water stations are located at approximately every 5kms and at the Finish and will provide Water and High5.

Marshals

Retirements
A Vehicle will be on the course to collect you and take you to the finish. A medical recovery team will be on hand at the finish should you require assistance. Please feel free to ask for help at any time.

Presentation of Awards
This will take place Robin Greaves Sports Hall, Quedgeley Wanderers Football Club, Stephenson Drive, Quedgeley, Gloucester. GL2 2AG at 12 Noon

Prizes 1st three Individuals Men/Women 1st Female Vet 40 and Male Vet 40 and then in the subsequent 10 year age groups up to 70 years of age. Please note an athlete can only win one prize. There will be a Medal given to all Finishers

Refreshments
A range of refreshments (Tea, Coffee soft drinks sandwiches cakes will be available at Robin Greaves Sports Hall where the race presentation takes places. There will be Tea and coffee available prior to the Start


Medical Support
First aid and emergency cover is provided by Local Medical Services on the course also there will be medical staff at the finish.

Postponement Extreme Weather Conditions
In the unfortunate postponement of the event through circumstances beyond the control of the race organisers there will be no refunds but the race will be organised at the earliest date. Please go onto our website: www.beyondthelimitations.org.uk  for further details
